Who created the Cosmic Parenting Guide?

What planets does the guide focus on and why?

When we refer to our natal chart, we acknowledge that we are so much more than our sun, moon and rising sign. In actual fact, we are made up of the energy of 10 different planets, asteroids, angles and aspects. However, there are five key planets referred to as the ‘personal planets’ and these are the focus of the Cosmic Parenting Guide.

The Sun, Moon, Mercury, Mars and Venus are all inner planets that impact our personalities, and their influence varies from person to person. Their themes are personality-based, therefore these planets can provide us with information about our sense of identity, emotions, how we learn and communicate, our love nature and also our desires and assertiveness.

 Whereas the other outer planets, such as Uranus and Pluto are social, transpersonal and also generational in their energetic nature, impacting other people born around the same time and location as you.

 The Cosmic Parenting guide focuses on the five personal planets because they have the greatest impact on the emotions you experience on a day-to-day basis and they also shape your personality. The ‘personal planets’ allow us to better understand our personalities on a fundamental level, before then exploring the impacts and influence of the external world around us.

As an added bonus we’ve included tailored information on the North Node placements of all 12 zodiac signs, plus information on the major planetary transits that influence our children from the ages of 2-14.

The North Node helps provide some insight into what your child’s soul is here to learn on a grander scale. Knowing more about their North Node placement can help when it comes to conquering fears linked to unfamiliar territory, whilst continuing to guide them towards their soul’s true purpose. Transits refer to the constant motion of the planets in the sky as they journey through the 12 zodiac signs and how this can manifest in your personal life. Understanding some of the major planetary transit themes can help empower us, whilst also allow us to work with the energetic influence at certain developmental stages of our child’s life.

Why is it broken down into elements?

Astrology is a very broad concept. It goes way beyond 12 zodiac signs and has many different layers. When looking at a natal chart, you can break the information down into dualities, modalities and elements. The elements refer to the four foundational elements of nature and they are; fire, earth, air, and water. Everything in nature is made up of these elements and the world could not function in the perfect and orderly fashion without them. These elements relate to basic principles of life, and a balance of which is very necessary.

The elements in astrology represent a basic kind of energy and consciousness that operates in everyone, and your natal chart reveals your cosmic attunement to the four different elements.

Elements have a unique way of expressing their energy and when it comes to Astrology, they can help you understand so much about your nature, overall psychology, vitality, conscious and unconscious qualities and cosmic traits. They also reveal the basic inner force motivating everything we do, how we see life itself and what expectations we have of life experience. The fundamental energy of each element also provides us an insight into what needs to be fueled in order to feel alive.

By better understanding elements, we get a comprehensive feel for personality tendencies and personality expressions without having to dissect an entire natal chart. We can also understand the similarities between elements and also the challenges of opposite elements.

Do I need to know my child’s chart?

You do not need to know the full ins and outs of your child's chart and you don’t have to have an astrology reading in order to utilise this guide (although we would both happily oblige).

However, you will need to know the zodiac sign of the 5 personal planets within your child's chart.

It’s incredibly simple to obtain this (and it may or may not be the beginning of new astrological obsession).

Simply follow these steps:

1). Head to https://astro.cafeastrology.com/natal.php  and create your FREE natal chart.

2). Enter in the birth details including; date of birth, time of birth and location of birth then hit OK. Your natal chart is then automatically generated!

3). Scroll down until you see the Zodiac Chart/ Table. It’s the first table that appears shortly after the title Planet Positions, Ascendant, & Houses. This table shows you the 5 personal planets and the zodiac sign they fall in.

4). You will need to note down the zodiac sign for The Sun, Moon, Mercury, Mars and Venus to properly navigate this guide to suit the needs of your child (see pic example above to identify what the planet symbols look like).

5). Once you have noted down the zodiac sign of each of the five personal planets and their north node use the key below to identity what signs belong to what element:

Fire: Aries, Leo and Sagittarius

Earth; Taurus, Vigro and Capricorn

Water: Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces

Air: Gemini, Libra and Aquarius
